Wednesday is the new Friday at our house. For years we have had family night on Friday night. The ice cream and movie celebration was approprately dubbed "Friday Night". Because of Dad's school schedule we changed our traditional movie and ice cream night from Friday to Wednesday. I still catch myself saying on Wednesday mornings, "Guess what? Tonight is Friday night! Or, um, Wednesday night when we do Friday night, or, yeah..."
Becca made a pumpkin pie. Two pumpkin pies. She asked if she could use my camera to take a picture of them cooking. Trying to be helpful I suggested we wait until they were cooked and I would take a picture of her with them. Then we ate one. The next morning we realized we had missed the chance for the picture and decided when we got a chance we would take a picture of her with the remaining pie. Before supper she asked again if she could just take a picture of the pie by itself, to which I, up to my ears in supper, replied that oh yeah! We needed to take one of her and the pie. How about when she brought it in for dessert tonight? Agreed. It was not until this sole remaining piece was left that we realized we had again missed the picture. So, just look at this and try to imagine Becca with the two lovely pies she made. Or look at it and learn the lesson I did, great picture moments don't always last; sometimes people eat them for dessert.
