Root Beer Floats

We had a hankering for root beer floats the other day, so Timo rode his bicycle into town and got some root beer. (we didn't need to get ice cream because we always keep some on hand.)

No all those buckets were not full when we started. :)

John

Rosie

Timo, don't you love the new hat!

Benjamin

Christopher spent most of the day working in the shop with Benjamin. He was more than happy to join us.

And me. Root beer floats are awesome!

Cake pops

Mom brought stuff to make Cake Pops. Honestly I did not even know what they were. :D

An arty picture of eggs.

The kids both used the mixer to help mix the batter.

While I was on a bike ride to Lyons (5 miles) Mom, Rosie and John made the cake balls.

We had about thirty.

We watched a video of a lady making cake pops and this part look so easy, but it was not.

Me and a cute cake pop. I loved this one so I just had to have my picture with it.
(Don't ask what I was thinking to want my picture with a cake pop.)

I loved this picture. (I took it with out looking:D)

Part of the final product. Thank you Mom for the great fun. :D

Typical

Or shall I say not so typical.
Looking over these pictures I noticed that most of them are not really typical of every day life, so maybe I should have titled this post:
Extra Special

This is our lovely Christmas tree

And the presents for the extended family

I really had fun wrapping these

And this just struck me as really funny and weird. Who looks for the peeler there? :)

While Mom is here, Grandpa wanted to treat us all to pizza. Hello Pizza Ranch!

Thank you Grandpa!

We also had Matthew and Katie down for a couple days. We had a blast playing guitar and singing for a good two hours.

Benjamin sang with us for a while.

And this is the only really 'typical' picture. All spruced up and ready to go to town.

Excuses

I know I haven't Blogged in a while, but not for no reason. So I've compiled a list of excuses to prove I haven't just forgotten.

I have also put on this picture of Timo, because it is funny, and I know some people don't read posts that do not have pictures. :)

Excuses:
  • I have had the measles. (false)
  • I was having so much fun with Mom I totally forgot. ( not quite true either)
  • The camera cord got lost so I could not put any pictures on the computer. (true)
  • I broke all my fingers. (false)
  • Blogger was giving me fits. (true)
  • It was so nice outside I went for a run instead. (sort of true)
  • I could not think of anything clever to blog about. (true)
  • I forgot about all my faithful blog readers. (FALSE)
Anyway, that is why I have not blogged in a whole week, along with a few windies. I will let y'all decide what you believe. :)

Happy Birthday Emily

Yesterday was Emily's Birthday, but for some reason I totally forgot to blog about it.
A few random things about Emily
  • She is the tallest Hipps girl
  • She is a very good dancer
  • She has written to the same pen pal for more than ten years
  • She taught me to drive
  • She was the first Hipps kid to earn a B.A. degree
  • She is the most AMAZING oldest sister ever!
  • She loves to swing dance
  • And she is very pretty

Happy Birthday Emily! I love you a ton.

Little Helpers

Rosie and John help me out in lots of ways, so a couple days ago I took pictures throughout the day, just to show y'all how helpful they are. :)
Smiles are always helpful.

And Rosie provides heaps of entertainment.

John also helps run the laundry. Here he fishes up some dirty laundry,

And hauls it to the washer.

Just to be sure the basket is empty. :)
John also emptied the dish drainer, without being told.

While Rosie helped me make supper.

The dishes, neatly put away.

Rosie making gravy.

And me, helping Rosie and John make supper. :)

Pictures from my camera Before it became the "blog" camera

Mom took all the pictures I had on my camera and put them on CDs for me. I found some time to look at them and thought it would be nice to share some of the best with our blog readers. Enjoy
I think this one is neat.

Me and Timothy had the brilliant idea of using this setting on my camera to make us look like twins. I got all of these shots except the last one.

I love this one!! :D

I Doctored this one. How is it?

My sweet sister Trina. I love you TRINA!!!

Me and Katie. Emily took this one for us. I love you KATIE!!

Rosie and John. I love this one too, and I love these two kids!

Rosie is my photographer buddy. She takes pictures of me and I take pictures of her. :D

Me and my 'Best Friend". I hope you enjoyed this post!! :D

Typical

I realized yesterday that I have a lot of random pictures saved up. Time for another 'Typical' post. :)

This would be the beginning of Lamb and Bean Soup.

John routinely cleans everyone's school sections. Without being asked!

Rosie straightening the book shelves.

Benjamin, Timo and I all dressed up and ready to go dancing.

'What, it was yummy!'

This is a very common sight, Rosie reading. Hello Oskar N. Retreep the second. :)

The colder it gets the more layers you put on, right Rebecca?

And this is us, chillin' on the couch.
That's all for now folks!
