Going Dancing

A couple weeks ago I and two of my handsome brothers went to the Old Dominion Dance costume ball.
Before we left, Becca took a few pictures of us 'all done up'.

This one is for you Anna. Recognize the dress? :)

John really wanted to dance with me too, so we danced to one song before we left.

All three of us. See I told you they were handsome. :)

Me and my security guards.

Rosie, The Cowgirl

By Rebecca:
The other day Rosie asked me to dress her as a cowgirl. After finding the right clothes and braiding her hair... She looked so good as a cowgirl I had to get some pictures. :P
The smiling cowgirl.

Her hat which she NEVER leaves behind. :D

John was helping me with my photo shoot so he had to have a picture taken with with the awesome cowgirl from Nebraska.!.!

I just love this picture and so does Rosie.

Praying

Our cowgirl is not always happy.... and some times her horse Star runs away. :(

John was may wonderful helper. :D  That is all for now people...

Easter

This post is a bit over due I know, I have no excuses either. Nevertheless, here it is... :)

Easter morning found us up before the sun, and our guests as well, everyone was outside by 6:45 for a sunrise service.
The service was excellent by the way, well worth dragging my carcass out of bed early for. :)

After church, we made a big breakfast of pancakes for everyone. Dad and Katie manned the griddles..

While everyone else helped set up tables.

The younger kids table

And the grown-ups table.

We were delighted to have Kerry join us.
The kids loved her, and she spent a good hour reading to an enthralled John.

The afternoon was devoted to various activities, like pruning the grapes,

Lying out in the sun,

And reading books.

After several games of soccer, the boys all congregated in Benjamin's room,

Where he held them spellbound with grand tales. :)

After getting up so early, naps were in order as well. :)
After a full 12 hours our guests returned home, but the wonderful time we had still has not worn off. :)

Cookies

By Rebecca Terry Lynne
Today after school I thought it would be fun to make some cookies for after supper. :D Of course chocolate-chip. :P

The chocolate-chips going into the mass of dough. ( I thought this was a great picture. Do you agree?)

My good friend, the mixing tool. I used it twice today. :D

The cookies just out of the oven. They looked good and I was so happy when Dad said that since they were so good we got to have three of them. :D

My cooling rack. Bomgaars newspaper. It works great. :p

Here are 47 cookies. Come to see me and I might make you some cookies for you. (Hint Hint please come and visit us blog stalkers:D)
Well that is all for now, but come a visit and I will blog about making cookies for you. :D

Typical

It has been a while since I did a 'Typical' post, so we have quite the variety of pictures this time. (I know these posts are usually dull and boring, so maybe the variety will help:))

Rosie, all done up and beautiful, as always.

My best description for these 2 pictures: (which is true by the way)
Me, "John, will you check and see if we have any rubber bands?"
John, "Sure!"

So he did. :)

There is always a way to make something regular into something beautiful.

John and Rosie, helping out.

We had a mid-afternoon rain shower the other day, followed by a gorgeous rainbow.

"Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments."

I just love summer storms.

Nebraska...The good life.

Matthew and Betsy came up for the afternoon a few weeks ago. We had a load of fun running all over the farm, capturing and tying each other up, reciting poetry, and having a 5 legged race. Thank you two so much for coming!

Benjamin and Timo moving the 260lb anvil. Impressive!

Mr. and Mrs. Fatmonk. Just home from Ogaboshki.

And here you have typical us... Crazy!
That is all for now folks!
