Typical

I have collected several random pictures I thought would be fun to post, and have thus decided to run the first of what I hope to be a series of typical snapshots. Look for "typical" posts to show up every time I wind up with several pictures that do not go together with any other title than, random. But for now, please enjoy a typical snapshot of my every day life, complete with captions.

Becca is becoming quite the cook as well as a photographer. This is a self-portrait following a major cookie making session.

We have been enjoying getting to the library once a week and this is pretty much what it looks like as soon as we get home.

The kids have been making excellent use of the lovely weather we have been having by hauling the wood Dad and Benjamin split earlier. I have pictures for a post focusing on the wood hauling, but this one was just to interesting not to include here. And yes, he is posing...

Opening exercises has always been one of my favorite parts of school, especially reciting our verses with great gusto on the motions. Looks like not much has changed.

A massage lesson. This is the best way for me to learn the movements, watching Dad do it while I am doing it myself. He even said his shoulders felt better afterwards, and of course, Benjamin was in no hurry for me to figure it out!

Sisters, one of God's greatest gifts!

A very common sight around here on afternoons. Leah is becoming more and more accomplished every day, and I am so proud of her for working so hard to teach herself guitar. She plays well enough now that she can often produce the hypnotizing effect guitar music tends to have on me which, so far has been a good thing... :D

Did I mention Becca has been honing her culinary skills? She even volunteered to make bread! A girl after my own heart! Well, that is it for now, folks! Be sure to come back and check again soon!

  2. Loved all those pictures, especially the randomness of them. That one of Leah with the light behind her is cool. BT

  3. Great blog, Emily! You definitely have a future as a humorist (if you wanted). Can you post a video of Leah playing guitar? Alex and I are teaching ourselves to play--it would be inspiring to see a self-taught player in action. Love the photos, the updates and especially the cousins! Aunt Nina

Emily, I love the template you chose for the blog. It really captures the feel of the family adventures. Can't wait to read more. :-)

  7. Leah, great to see you practicing guitar. I am learning some new strums with the palm of the hand mute. What chords are you playing now?
