A Trip to the Zoo

On my birthday, we took the day off regular school and went on a field trip to the zoo with Mom to celebrate.

My good friend Bekah met us there... Let the fun begin! :-)

It was a little cold outside to visit the outdoor exhibits, but there are plenty of great indoor exhibits to go see...

A Cook-in

What do you do when you have hot dogs and want to have a cook-out, but it is as cold as Siberia outside???

You open up the wood stove and have a cook-in!! :-)

We tried this out yesterday, and it worked quite well. In fact, some small people are lobbying to do it again today. :-)

Change...

Whether we like it or not, things are always changing... We grow up and change and life changes around us...

But maybe there are some things...

That never change!

Leah's Birthday

Yesterday was Leah's 18th Birthday and here is a short poem I wrote for her:

Over the years    

 You and us have shed a few tears 

 We've had a few dance downs 

Of which I think you won almost every round 

We've had lots of fun

  Working hard in the sun 

 But 18... Wow that is a big one

Happy Birthday Dad!

(Slightly late)

Dad's 50th birthday was a few days ago, and while the "Dying Mule and Toad Chorus" wished him multiple happy birthdays on the actual day, it has taken me couple days to find time to blog about it. Sorry!

A few random things about Dad:

• He has had that mustache for 30+ years!
• He loves to work
• He has monstrous hands
• He's almost as strong as superman
• He can fix anything
• If he was stranded on an island with nothing but peanut butter or sand to eat, he'd eat the sand!
• He's a really awesome Dad

A Princess in making

Rosie is always asking me to give her a "make over" but I never have time to give her one. So today (Saturday) I offered her one in return I could try out some of my photo taking skills on her. She took the deal right away. SCORE
