Mysteries

I love a good mystery. And I love reading Sherlock Holmes. In fact I like Sherlock Holmes so much that I bought my own beautifully bound copy. (book lovers may now drool)
But... that is not what this post is about...

I have my very own mystery going on right here on the blog. (pause... for effect of course) My mystery, (or just what I am curious about) is, (another pause, for effect of course) Who is reading what I write? I know quite a few people who read the blog regularly, and I know there are quite a few people who read, who I am not sure who is. I can tell by the feedjit on the side. The column on the side underneath all our pictures, is the feedjit, and it tells me what city and state a visitor is from, when they come, and what internet browser you use. Scary huh? :) But don't worry, it doesn't say Who you are. I have put some places and people together, but there are quite a few that are still a mystery.
Some that I am particularly curious about include:
Darmstadt, Hessen, Germany
Thessaloniki, Greece
The United Kingdom
Australia
and particularly, Brownsville, Texas
So, if you visit my blog and read this, please, please comment and tell me who you are and where you are from, even if you are not from one of the places I mentioned. If you don't know where you are from, just scroll down to the feedjit and your location should be right on top. :)
Oh, and if you haven't already, you really should read Sherlock Holmes. ;)

Typical

Typical is the post Leah always does so I thought I would give it a try. :D We will see how I do.

John is very creative with his playing, but I think we have all put boxes on our heads but did not get a picture of it. :P

This is a beautiful picture!!!! Don't you agree? The other day it was wonderful weather here and Rosie and John spent most of their day outside

I make breakfasts at home and I love doing it. This is trying to get a art like picture of bread. :D
That is all for now but we will post more as soon as we can!! :D

Thank you God

For a long long time we were not getting any eggs at all. We were trading with the Wattermanns for eggs. Then after a lot of TLC, they laid 20 eggs in one day!!!!! :D

Thank you God for the eggs!!!! We appreciate them a lot.... Thanks again God!!! Amen
It my be little but God still answers our requests. :D

The Great Flop

As you may recall, I recently transplanted several plants I had sprouted into real dirt. One month later, here is how they are doing.

Just as a reminder, they originally looked like this.

The pussy-willows now look like this. They died. :( I did manage to grow some weeds though.

And this is (or was) the lilac.

Close up of the pussy-willows before...

And after.

The lilac before...

And that stick is it now.

I also planted a little vine-thing. This is it then...

And now. It grew!!!! :) So our first shot at sprouting trees was a great flop, but now we know that this small generic vine is hardy enough to survive me. :)

Pizza!

For my birthday Grandpa bought us all a pizza party.

We went roller skating earlier in the day, thanks to Becca, (and Dad who payed for the whole thing, and drove both ways), but unfortunately the camera refused to behave, and we didn't get any pictures. We topped the day off with pizza from Grandpa and it was delicious! Thank you Grandpa!

Today was Leah's 17 birthday.
Some interesting stuff about Leah:
She cooks amazingly well,
She is a math wiz ,
She can cook a great apple pie,
She drove the tractor all this hay season ,
and last but not least She can play the guitar really well.

Hoarfrost

The other day it snowed about 6 inches. It was the only snow this winter that has stuck around for very long.

When we saw it had come to stay, Benjamin fired up the 656 and plowed out the lane.
For some reason the camera insisted on taking fuzzy pictures that day. Sorry.

Don't have too much fun. :)

The next morning I awoke to a gorgeous hoarfrost. The sun and the frost created a view too beautiful to miss. For once the camera cooperated and I zipped outside in my pajamas to take a few pictures. Enjoy!

One Fine Day

A few days ago, the weather was extraordinarily nice for January, in the mid sixties to be exact. So, we spent as much time as we could outside, stocking up on Vitamin D.

Proof. You can see the time, date, and temperature on the thermometer here.

Rosie reading. I just love this picture. :)

John and Becca swinging.

We can go outside barefoot!

Herky enjoying the sunshine.

On a side note, some of us have made some rather interesting creations lately.
This is an airplane made by Timothy. And it flies, or flew rather, it has since crashed. :)

And Becca's all new, patented, Sombrero Muffins! Really, they were just like little sombreros, and they tasted quite good too!
That's all for now folks!
