Miniature wood cutting

A friend of ours asked if he could dump the pile of  remains from his old cattle fence on our place. It looked like pile of fuel to heat the shop to Dad so we said yes.

It was a big pile. The same day, Dad, Ben and Timo began "operation cut up the pile of wood for keeping the shop warm". :P

Dad and Ben did the cutting up part....

.... and Timo did the stacking part of the job. :P

 Dad

Dad and Ben had the routine down. :D

 And Timo did too.

He is a hard worker! :D

John was a hard worker too. I caught him still smiling at the end. :D
Good job Guys!!!!!!!

The World's Biggest Grill Cheese Sandwich!

The other day, for lunch, we had....... The World's Biggest Grill Cheese Sandwich!!

I used a whole loaf of French bread...

And plenty of cheese.

Trying to flip it was an adventure... I had to use two spatulas, but, to my surprise, it came out alright...

The finished product! And believe it or not, it tasted just like a regular grill cheese sandwich! Only more fun... :-)

A Visit from the AZ Hipps

Aaron, Alex, and Rachel, our cousins from Arizona, came up for a visit two weeks ago. The NE Hipps and the AZ Hipps only see each other once in a blue moon, so we made the absolute most of our time together...

The boys drove in on Wednesday, and Rachel flew in the next day. We all went to Omaha to pick her up. Trina was in the hospital having a baby simultaneous to this, so we hung around in Omaha for most of the afternoon, waiting to see if Little Daniel would be making his appearance any time soon.

What better to do in Omaha on a beautiful day than have a picnic?

Rosie, helping Alex with his hair. :-)

Aaron.... Ha! Caught you smiling!

Most evenings looked like this, with a crowd in the kitchen doing up the dishes...

And doing other crazy cousin things; like seeing if they can put their toes in their mouths!

Dad and John playing cards.

One evening, we decided to teach the cousins to dance. Aaron however, was not interested whatsoever and refused to budge!

But Benjamin, Rachel, Alex, and I moved out the furniture and cut a rug....

While Aaron did this! :-)

On one day, Benjamin organized the troops and they all split and stacked firewood.

Just chillin'

Another evening activity... Pushups!

Having pizza in honor of Benjamin's birthday. Thank you Grandpa!

Getting to meet little Daniel... and making goofy faces! :-)

Horseback riding!

We had a dead freezer and some digging to be done in the basement... what better time to tackle those than when there are 4 strong teenage boys around?!

Moving the freezer up the stairs and out...

Now how do we get it on the truck???

The finished product... Great job guys!

Thanks so much for coming y'all! Let's not wait so long until next time!
