Happy Tuesday!! My week has been pretty amazing. Some of these photos are from passed weeks but hey didn't get on the blog so I am posting them now.

This little dude never stops making me smile. He was to adorable not to post.

Sunday we went to the Grady's for Leah's goodbye party. Leah is heading to California for a few months and we wanted to see her off. Part of the day was a game of Jews and Germans. I had never heard of this game until I spent some more time with the Gradys. It is basically Cops and Robbers just a different name. The game I was a part of we everyone (who was playing) vs the four Wattermann boys.
Philip is a pretty strong guy. I didn't know this until we played this game. I spent 20 or 30 minutes just sitting on Philip to keep him from running away. (He was a Jew) I was told they need help with William but the real help was need with Philip. William is plenty strong but after a while he just submitted. We finally got some ropes and tied Philip up and hauled him to "jail'. It did take as many people holding Philip in the picture to tie him up. Needless to say we were all quit proud of him. Thanks for being such a great sport Philip. Your awesome.

Another part of our lives is helping dad with his work. I have been a big part of that. I have been painting siding boards for him for a while. :)

I made my first bundt cake the other day. It was amazing. I loved the recipe. If you love chocolate and want the recipe comment and I would love to send it to you! :)

Rosie took my camera out and took a bunch of pictures of the flowers that are blooming. This is just one of the many she got.

Saturday Dad dug some of out raspberry plants out and we brought them to Emily on Sunday.

I made cookies and I was pretty sure I could fit them all on this plate but my family thought otherwise. Even though they did not stay stored on the plate I still had to show them I could do it.

Happy Tuesday! I wish you an amazing week full of awesomeness!

Dad's Barbecue! Its Finished!!

                         By Rosie
In the 1940s Dad’s grandfather, Eugene Meda, started something. He wanted to build a barbecue. He mixed Mortar and he set stone until he had finished a tall, sturdy barbecue made of stone taken from the Sierra Nevada Mountains. His creation stood in the back yard of his then current house in Sacramento. This was Dad’s first inspiration to build a stone barbecue. After many trips to the lovely country of Brazil Dad saw several Churrasqueiras (chure-has-keras a Brazilian version of a barbecue) that refined his vision. At last in the spring of 2013 Dad started. The following pictures document the building.
The progress about mid summer 2013. Dad wanted to use all local materials including:
Metal bought at Brehmer’s in Lyons NE, and welded by Dad in his garage, Brick fired in Sioux City, Rocks from the Elkhorn River, and the cement was all mixed by hand with the materials being purchased from Gerhold’s.

Dad's First experiment with polished concrete.
The granite inlays were not from Nebraska :)
View of the inside. The bars in the back can
be adjusted for height, and one of them moved forward
for rotisserie work
The height of the fire grate is fully adjustable...
...Just turn the handle outside.
The mechanism inside between the rock and the
firebrick can be oiled through this little tube.
Dad putting on the last bricks this spring

                                    All Done! :)

Typical Tuesdays!

Wow it's Tuesday already! My week went by very fast but it was good.

I was looking at Instagram and I found this picture. Here is a crazy haired Lexi to brighten your day! :)

Sunday night I went for a walk and got to watch the sunset. It was quite beautiful to see.

After I got back I sat on the counter attached to the BBQ and took pictures and listen to music.

I hope this made you smile. We will see you next Tuesday ! :)

Lexi's First Birthday

Lexi just turned one last Sunday. She is such a doll and I love her to pieces.

This is a photo from last summer when a babysat her a lot. We even got to do a photo shoot. I can't believe how much she has grown since then. I am so happy she lives so close to me and that I get to kiss and squeeze her so much. It feels like just yesterday she was so small and now she is starting to walk. She gives high-fives and claps. She laughs and tries to get away when you tickle her. My little Squishy is growing up!

For her fist birthday Trina and Daniel had a little party for her at their house in town. We had soup and cake.

Danny was all smiles. But he did have a hard time with the "Don't touch the cake" concept.

Lexi and Grandpa have a very interesting relationship. Sometimes Lexi thinks Grandpa is fun and sometimes she thinks he is scary and she cries. She was undecided how she felt when this picture was taken... :)

 Happy Birthday little Squishy!!

She wasn't very happy about being the center of attention. She was tired and wanted a bottle and really just wanted to cuddle with Mommy.

As you can see she wasn't to pleased with the idea of her birthday. I am going to show this to her when she gets older. Such a great first birthday picture.

It was a happy birthday...for most of us. I can't wait to watch her grow up into the beautiful young lady I know she is going to be! Love you Lexi Anne!! <3

Typical Tuesdays

I should have posted this yesterday but like normal...I forgot. At lest I have more pictures today.

We were all sick quite a lot this last week.

Rainy days call for working inside. I would have liked to curl up with hot coffee and a book but instead I made ice tea in my Rudolph cup and washed dishes.

Dishes with Rudolph! :)
If you haven't noticed humility does funny things to my hair...

The apricot tree never produces fruit but it always blossoms beautifully.

I cracked this egg and instead for breaking the shell just peeled off.

Lexi turned one on Sunday. We went over to Daniel and Trina's to celebrate her. More about that coming later.

I made chocolate chip cookies and this is my amazing stack of them. I was trying to prove I could get them all on the plate.

Fruit salad has become a favorite in our house. I have always liked it but we never ate it. Now there isn't as many mouths to feed we eat it more often.

Happy Tuesday um I mean Wednesday. :)
Until next time.

April Rain

"April showers bring May flowers" is true statement in Nebraska. The last week has been deary and rainy. I love rain so I don't mind it much. Today it has been particularly rainy.

John rain inside saying "There are bullets falling from the sky" I laughed and then went to look. Sure enough it was hailing. But just baby hail stones as you can see.

I spent the morning with Dad cutting wood so when I got home the house was in need of a good cleaning. Why not listen to great music while you clean? (PS You should listen to this song. It is amazing)

When I went outside so check the mail the rain, which had turned into hail, was now snow and still is. I am not a huge fan of snow so I walked around saying "I thought it was spring time" I forgot, it almost always snows at some point in April. Wow Nebraska weather!

Got the mail!! I was very wet and rather cold.
I hope this short post made up for the epic fail of the post before! :) Until next time!

Typical Tuesdays!

Well as you can see by this single picture I am not doing that good of a job with this Typical Tuesday thing. My week was very full I just didn't think to take pictures of it's fullness. If fullness is even a thing. My week held Easter, family time, lots of cleaning, taking care of my nieces and nephew, welcoming pre-mature baby lambs into this rainy world, dancing in the rain and not taking pictures of any of it. I do apologize for the major lack of pictures. One of the greatest downers on not having a good camera, you can't take good pictures. Spring is upon us so there are many beautiful flowers that are just waiting for their picture to be taken. All my Easter pictures are on my sisters camera so hopefully I will get them later this week.
To my embarrassment this is the end of the post. See you next week!

Typical Tuesday!

Technically should have blogged this yesterday but I didn't have the idea until today.
I decided I would blog more since I never blog. To motivate me to do that I am starting something called Typical Tuesday! Since we don't do a lot of big things together I thought I would post as many pictures of the small things we did during the week. I just thought of this two minutes ago so I don't have very many exciting pictures. But I guess if I am going to do this faithfully, I need to take more pictures! :)

I couldn't help but blog this one. Hillary posted on Instagram and I had to save it to our computer.

I have the privilege of babysitting Lexi and her big brother a lot. They are quite a handful but a cute handful! :)

Rosie is figuring out how to use photo editors to make multiples of herself. As you can see she is getting rather good at it!

Hopefully this post made you smile! And I plan on posting again next Tuesday or maybe sooner.
