Sunday afternoon

It was a lovely Sunday afternoon. We had eaten our doughnuts, done our shopping and were in the mood for a picnic. John requested we go to "the lake", by which he meant Standing Bear Lake, a park we had gone to a month or so ago. We found it just as hospitable as ever, the only drawback being the enormous hill up to the picnic tables from the parking lot.

And the afternoon's adventure begins with a hike...

We spread out our picnic lunch and started eating. Dad, as you will note, brought his textbook in case he got a chance to study.

He is hard to see in this picture, but the little white dot is Timothy going back to fetch more water. Thanks, Timo!

Once lunch was over we employed ourselves gainfully. There were trees to be climbed.

There were phone calls to awesome sister-in-laws to make. This picture does not exactly look like me talking on the phone but this is what I was looking at while talking...

There were sisters to sit next to and look cool with. Just ask John, he knows...

There were signs with very specific directions to follow.

There were little brothers to take to the famed porta-potty. Not sure why it is famous, or if I want to know.

It was a lovely afternoon. Be sure to come back again and read about our next adventures!! (Just as soon as we have them that is!)
