Lately...

Lately... I haven't been blogging, but that doesn't mean we have not been doing anything interesting.

The kitchen has been looking like this almost every day...

God has blessed us with cucumbers galore...

And I have been making pickles! This is roughly a third of what I have made so far. :-)

If it isn't pickles, it has been hay. Baling, stacking, loading, and selling... these pictures are from when we baled alfalfa hay a few weeks ago.

Christopher came over to help out and he and Benjamin bucked those 70-80lb bales like they weighed nothing! Without complaint I might add.

Since I am not amazingly strong and riding the rack had me worn out before we even reached 100 bales, I transferred full and empty racks with the 70. That was a good deal of fun too... :-) My view looked something like this... :-)

A few other interesting things that we have been doing include:
Finding some adorable baby killdeers.

Doing chores, (and playing with the kitten)

Some flowers I picked off the side of the road. I. Love. Flowers. Just sayin' :-)
Thank you Lord for all the wonderful things you have blessed us with!

There's Something 'bout a Truck...

Benjamin recently purchased his first set of wheels...

A good ol', beat-up, trusty, Pick-up Truck!

The man and his truck. :-)

It runs, but needs a bit of transmission work. Currently it is behind the shop in the middle of being souped up, er repaired. :-) Once it is fixed, I call second dibs on trying it out! After that...
Congratulations Benjamin on your next step toward the higher levels of Country Boy Awesomeness! :-)

4th of July with Michael, Sarah, and Company

We celebrated the 4th of July in Lincoln with Michael, Sarah, and a broad assortment of other relatives. :-)
Fun? Total understatement!

Natalie, Kyle, Caroline, and I on the porch swing.

Michael; master of the grill. He did an awesome job!

It was hot outside and there were water guns...  The next few pictures explain pretty well what happened. :-)

There were not quite enough water guns to go around, so Caroline and I ran around getting squirted and hijacking water guns when the opportunity presented itself. :-)

Caroline LOVES dogs. :-)

As dusk fell we brought out the fireworks.

In which Caroline and I are enthralled by the sparklers, and try not to catch our hair on fire. :-)
Happy Independence Day everyone! Thank you Michael and Sarah for having us. It was Awesome!

Hay, Hay, Hay

Now for that catching up... :-)

We have been doing hay pretty steadily for several weeks now; putting it up, stacking it in the barn, and loading it up for people and selling it.

These pictures are from when we first started... if you think we were making funny faces then... :-)

Way to go on the unloading boys! Thanks for getting that first cutting unloaded while I was in Des Moines... I was very impressed. :-)
