I love a good mystery. And I love reading Sherlock Holmes. In fact I like Sherlock Holmes so much that I bought my own beautifully bound copy. (book lovers may now drool)
But... that is not what this post is about...
I have my very own mystery going on right here on the blog. (pause... for effect of course) My mystery, (or just what I am curious about) is, (another pause, for effect of course) Who is reading what I write? I know quite a few people who read the blog regularly, and I know there are quite a few people who read, who I am not sure who is. I can tell by the feedjit on the side. The column on the side underneath all our pictures, is the feedjit, and it tells me what city and state a visitor is from, when they come, and what internet browser you use. Scary huh? :) But don't worry, it doesn't say Who you are. I have put some places and people together, but there are quite a few that are still a mystery.
Some that I am particularly curious about include:
Darmstadt, Hessen, Germany
Thessaloniki, Greece
The United Kingdom
Australia
and particularly, Brownsville, Texas
So, if you visit my blog and read this, please, please comment and tell me who you are and where you are from, even if you are not from one of the places I mentioned. If you don't know where you are from, just scroll down to the feedjit and your location should be right on top. :)
Oh, and if you haven't already, you really should read Sherlock Holmes. ;)
I read every single post and, well, you already know who I am and where I'm from. ;) and I love Sherlock Holmes, btw. :P
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Nice addition of Sherlock Holmes Leah!! It looks awesome! You know who I am also. ;)

Hey!
ReplyDeleteI'm from Darmstadt. I'm a student and 26 years old. I have no idea how I came across your blog, maybe you commented something on another blog I was reading and I clicked on yours but really I don't know. I like reading your blog as our lives are completely opposite from each other apart from being close to your family and enjoying spending time/living together. Have a great day! Sarah
Sarah,
DeleteWelcome to my blog! :) I am so glad you like reading it. Do you have a blog? I'd love to learn more about you and your life.
It's great to have you.
Leah
Hi Leah. This is Anna Blessing. Remember me? My family moved to Texas last spring and we are your mysterious visitors from Brownsville.
ReplyDeleteYou know I like to read too, and our tastes in books are very similar. I wanted to ask you the name of the one you were reading last spring about the Aztecs. I am currently reading Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens, but you have whet my appetite for a good mystery, and I will look for some Sherlock Holmes titles on my next library visit.
I like to read about what you are all up to, especially when I feel homesick for snow, kindred spirits, and the countryside. We have so many of the same interests: cooking, gardening, reading, music, family. I have meant to write, but we have been super busy and I could never think of what to say, although so much has happened. My biggest news is a new baby sister, born in January and super adorable!
Your bread looks great! I'm glad you're all well. Hope this helped solve your mystery, Sherlock!
ANNA!! I was hoping that Brownsville was you. I have been trying to contact y'all since you moved, but I never could find you. Congratulations on your new sister!!
DeleteIs there some way I could write or email you? We have so much to catch up on; a comment form could never fit it all. :) Also I want to send you a picture of me in the dress you gave me. :) Hope to hear from you again soon,
Leah
Leah, I will send you a snail mail letter with my address, and a picture of her royal cuteness (my baby sister). I think I found your correct address online. I look forward to hearing from you and seeing how gorgeous you look in the dress. Have you sent a pic to the prince of Belgium yet? Wish we lived closer! ~Anna
DeleteHi Leah. :)
ReplyDeleteLove me (who loves your new Sherlock Holmes!)
P.S. I appear as Blair, Fremont, & West Point.
Hi Katie,

You were at my house this past weekend. :) I appear as Lincoln

I'm in Iowa. I feel like such a stalker! But I'm not a creepy one - really! :) I came across this blog some time ago and love to read the simple yet very funny stories about your lives. I'm 28, a Christian mom of four. My kids love all the pictures and have me read your names from the side column. You're celebrities! :) It was especially fun to see your zoo pictures, since we made a trip out there a couple years ago.
ReplyDelete~M~
Oh yes, a stalker! :) I am so glad you found us and enjoy reading. Iowa isn't so far away, maybe we will meet someday.

Hello!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to send you a note for a while to encourage your posting, but you have given a welcome invitation to do so now.
Through a Facebook connection to a friend there in Nebraska I came upon your blog upwards of a year ago, and have been following ever since, and as well those of the Grady and Wissmann families, and any others I find in a similar vein.
I have lived in California all my life (26 years) and the Golden State is quite a different place from your midlands. Thus your postings give me a window into a very different part of America. One of the most symbolic differences is the community dances -- you won't find that anywhere on this side of the Rockies (except perhaps a little square-dancing in the far north). Society here is too individualistic and cold.
Beyond the significant cultural differences, I enjoy following the lives of fellow Christian families. Though there are many "churches" here, there are few other Christians -- I can count on one hand the number we've met in the 7 years we've been here in Los Angeles. Here we have everything but Christians: Catholics, Mormons, Muslims, Orthodox Jews, and the pervasive Eastern/Humanist mix.
Finally, as I live in an endless urban landscape, watching the lives of those of you over there allows me some feeling of connection with the rural life -- a life that is both healthy for humanity and accords with my upbringing (I grew up in a rural setting in Northern California -- and can relate to nearly all aspects of your farming life there, though my experiences were on an admittedly smaller, more 'amateur' scale).
Please keep up the writings!
P.S.: I am in Los Angeles, but due to the nature of my network, my visits may trace to places ranging from Riverside to San Diego.
Manoah,
DeleteIt's great to have you along. I have been to California a couple times, and it certainly is a very different place. :) It is very beautiful though. Do you have a a blog? We would love to read about life on your side of the Rockies.

DeleteI have started something of the sort. It's not public though so if you post your email address or send me a blank email ( mhfadams@federaladamsfamily.com ) I will be glad to send you an invitation link.
DeleteAwesome post Leah! And really cool responses! I am either seen in Seattle or Omaha...can you guess who I am??
ReplyDeleteHmmm... No idea. :) Have I seen you recently?
DeleteWe come up as Greenville or Celest Tx. :)
ReplyDeleteYou know exactly who I as I was just at your house for a week:D
