This summer God has blessed me with an opportunity to volunteer with Compass Ministries' summer program. Because He is God and beyond amazing, I was also blessed with a place to stay in Omaha apartment sitting for a friend and a job on the weekends I was there selling shaved ice at festivals. Needless to say, the last 3 weeks have been insanely crazy and awesome at the same time. I did not take near as many pictures as I should have of my time at Compass but did get a few I wanted to share with you all.

Conquering Omaha's roads system has been on my list for a long time. I made some major progress in my conquest with living on one end of town and working at the other end while meeting up with friends at many places in between. The coolest thing about Omaha's roads is that there are so many different ways to take the scenic route and still wind up where you are going, eventually.
Marquis brought me this flower and told me to put it in my hair. I wanted to save it forever...
Friday is field trip day. I had forgotten just how fun it is to ride in the back of a 15 passenger van, especially with a bunch of kids. Good times...
On one field trip we all went out to Red Oak Iowa to visit a farm. I laughed when they said that we were going to a farm to see cows for the field trip, because that is more like going home for me. But getting to see the kids experience the farm was one of the highlights of my time at Compass so far. So many things I take for granted were brand new to them!
The initial reaction to the cows was one of cautious curiosity.
But the cautious part soon wore off. Regretfully none of the cows were really interested in being fed by hand, but it was still fun to get that close.
